Creative Spaces...

Hi everyone!!! It's been awhile. I know!

Well, now that it's 2013 I am trying to make a few changes for the better. I am so fortunate to be able to spend my days doing what I love... SCRAPBOOKING of course! The downside to it is that my studio tends to look like a hurricane blew through it more often than not!

This morning, as I type this post, I snapped this pic just as my room sits this very day.  I am almost ashamed to show you the chaos that has taken over... eeeeeeeeeeeek!

Not pretty, right? Well... I guess I can justify it by calling it Creative Chaos but truthfully, it is becoming a tad bit overwhelming! I long for the days where my room looked so much prettier... like it did when it was featured in the Creating Keepsakes Magazines CREATIVE SPACES Special Edition.

Numerous scrappers in the industry were given the opportunity to show off their Creative Spaces and I was honoured to be among those asked to participate. At the time, everything was picture perfect! But now the truth is out... and I am sure I am not the only ones who's studio is less than print worthy at times ;)

The BRAND NEW Creative Spaces (volume 2) has just been released so perhaps it's time to check it out for a wee bit of inspiration. I was so inspired by those in the first that I cannot wait to see what is featured in the second. Undoubtedly lots of fabulous storage and organizing tips will be shared and as you can see, I need all the help I can get!

For today, I will settle with getting my Studio back to functional... I can't promise it will last but this is my goal!  Fingers crossed...

It really is a great space and I am fortunate to have a place to call my own... with 2 boys and a hubby I need a girly space and this does it for me! Some of my favourite things are in this room... namely some fabulous Print Block creations from Darryl Benson at Treasured Memories... I have numerous of these one of a kind works of art scattered around my home and they still put a smile on my face!

There is some great storage options in this room... now I just have to get to it and organize again! It can be done... so now I just have to make it priority and make it happen! lol!!!

So here's to a fabulous 2013 and one of a little less chaos!!! I want to enjoy the simple things that make me happy... like my blingy chandelier! I want to remember to just take a minute and look around... I have everything I need to make me a happy happy girl right here in my home... I am blessed.

What I am really excited to also share with you is that my friends at Creating Keepsakes have offered one of MY readers a chance to win their very own copy of the Creative Spaces newest issue. Simply leave a comment here on my blog with your favourite storage/ or organizing tip or your scrap space dreams and I will draw a winner upon my return from CHA in California next week!

There are some links to a few of the other gals blogs featured in the first issue... I can't wait to see their updates!

Happy SCrapping!!!

I am also lucky to have my own space. Unfortunately it is in the basement, so there is little natural light. My dream is a cottage in our huge backyard that is for my crafting!

My favorite storage are the shelving units I purchased from Ikea. They hold so much and all my products are visible. Thanks for the chance to win.

I think the best storage option would be to find one that fills itself after I am done with it!! I love my Clip It Up though I have to admit - it just needs to be better organized!

I really need a clip it up, but I do not have a place to keep it. I would love my own scrap room!

I have a fab room and it's always a mess when I finish scrapping...I would like a fairy to come every night and replace all the "mess" back into it's place. When I come out in the morning I can just start in a nice, clean, tidy space!!

I like the 14 x 14 x 3" plastic boxes from ArtBin. I cut up scraps into "mat" and card sizes and store them in there, solids in one, prints in a couple others. So easy to use the scraps for quick projects this way.

I just love your chandelier...love a girly space of my own also.
I love to re-purpose all types of things to make my space special to me.

I bought cheap canvas "boxes" from a local store (kiddies section) and love them. They fit perfect on my shelves, but the best is that they are deep so, can hide lots!!

I struggle with keeping my space functional - thanks for sharing that your space isn't always perfectly tidy too!

I am fortunate to have a large scrapbooking space of my own. I just reorganized my space, but I still have a lot to do! I found the expedit storage shelves from Ikea are fantastic- they fit 12x12 paper perfectly, and I was able to get some nice drawers and bins to keep myself organized. I also have cropper hopper vertical storage for my paper- it definitely keeps my area looking tidy!

I am in the process of sorting and organizing....again! I am using baskets and several pretty gift boxes to help with the looks. My favorite tip is using a pill box to keep charms in....just the right size and secure for those little pieces.

I am very lucky to have my own craft room as well, and yes it is often buried in creative explosion. My husband and I dream of going south for the winter when we retire, I always tease him that we need to have one of those "toy hauler" 5th wheels, but that extra space will not carry a motorized toy as most do. It will become my mobile crafting space!!! and I bet a "scrap box" would do wonders in the little space!!! What an amazing dream right! LOL.

Right now my crafting area is the kitchen table! When I can clear out my extra bedroom I would love to make it very girly with a Parisian feel, and trade my ceiling fan for a lovely chandelier! But this isn't in the plans right now!! Thanks for the chance, I would love to see everyones creative spaces!!
